Want to keep YouTube running while using other apps? Do this
Video streaming platform YouTube has recently made the ‘picture-in-picture’ mode available to everyone. This means that you can now watch YouTube videos on a small part of your mobile screen while using other apps on your phone. That is, now the feature of chatting, reading emails or doing other tasks (multitasking) while watching YouTube has become easier.
Earlier, this feature was limited to YouTube premium users, but now it is free for everyone. Today we are going to tell you how to activate this feature on Android and iOS devices.
For both Android and iPhone
First of all, open the YouTube app on your phone.
Then tap on the profile icon at the bottom.
Then tap on the settings icon at the top right.
After doing this, various sections of settings will appear. Go to the ‘Playback’ option there. And toggle it on.
After doing this, picture-in-picture mode will be activated on your YouTube account.
Now, if you go directly to the phone's home screen while playing YouTube, a YouTube video will start 'playing' in one corner. What you need to keep in mind is that for this feature to work properly, the latest version must be updated. For that, go to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and update your YouTube app.
If YouTube is not allowed for picture-in-picture mode, it may not work at that time. For that, go to the phone's settings. And, select the app section. And go to the YouTube option. Then scroll down and you will see the 'Picture-in-picture' option. 'Allow' it. After doing this, you can use other apps on your phone while watching free YouTube videos.
