 India's first dengue vaccine approved India's drug regulatory authority has approved the Kydenga vaccine against dengue for use. The dengue vaccine has been approved in India. The vaccine named Kydenga, developed by a Japanese company against the dengue virus, has been approved for use in India. Developed by Japanese pharmaceutical company Takeda Pharmaceuticals , this vaccine has been approved by India's drug regulatory authority Central Drug Standards and Organization (CDACO). The Kydenga vaccine is said to provide protection against all four types of dengue virus serotypes 1, 2, 3 and 4 . Like the COVID-19 vaccine , it requires two doses. The second dose should be given three months after the first dose. This vaccine, which can be given to people aged 4 to 60 years, can also be given to those who have not had dengue.
